Workshops at the Dutch Congress for language teachers

We gave two workshops at the national Congress for language teachers held in The Netherlands on the 1st of November 2013. More than 80 language teachers participated in our workshops! Most of them were familiar with some social media applications but very few (5%) reported to use them in their teaching. Three teachers reported to use Facebook, one Skype (as homework), and one Youtube to co-create and upload project videorecordings.

It is really interesting to see how teachers are looking now for meaningful ways to enrich their teaching through the adequate pedagogical use of social media and even looking for ways to experiment with telecollaboration: learners engaged in project work with peers abroad using social media tools to develop Intercultural awareness and communicative and social skills.
